On the 8th grade state test, there are no questions about eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. However, there are a lot of life science questions, so students need to know how to answer questions about cells. As a result, when I created my summative, I wrote in my own questions for these standards or modified 8th grade questions to fit these 7th grade standards. This unit is aligned to the summative exam. However, there are no questions on mitosis or meiosis on my summative, so if you are pressed for time, that is the material I would omit or condense.
